Hi There, Welcome.
I am currently in the process of re-painting approximately 350 badges that adorn 'Rubys' theres not alot of accessable information about British Navy badges at our finger tips and only half a dozen books on the subject so I created this website which I hope fills a small part of a large GAP!
Im a self taught painter impaired with behcet's. I gained most of my skill and patience making and painting airfix models during my childhood. I started re-painting Rubys badges which have adorned her Portsmouth Pub for 4 decades in february 2006. The first badge I re-painted was HMS Hoods, the pride of the navy and have since spent 424 hours re-painting a further 213 badges! All the research, words, figurehead and badge photos on this website are my own! I extend my thanks to my Uncle Steven, Auntie Pam and Cousin Sarah for allowing me the privilage of cleaning and re-painting Rubys badges, to Frank of the HMS Hood Website and to Weebly.com.
Thank you for visiting my website! I hope you enjoyed your visit and please feel free to leave feedback!
Above are the port fore and aft views of my personally built 1/400 scale HMS Hood as near as it will allow to her 1941 look. It's made of 246 parts, took me 14 hours too build and is 66 cms long. For the beginner willing to give patience and time it's an excellent model to kick off a fleet with!
(Please note I am not a proffessional, serious or avid Modeller)
Examples of finer Hood models are displayed in the Hood Model Gallery at hmshood.com click on Hood Today.
