Badges of the British Navy

I started re-painting Ruby's Badge's in February 2006 and have since re-painted 216 which include Canadian, American and Australian, the first badge I repainted was Ruby's HMS Hood Badge. Whilst re-painting Ruby's Badge's I came across several which were painted wrong so on searching the Internet for a reference I found conflicting reference's and limited Historical Information which lead me to build this website which I hope iron's out inacuracy's.

I gained alot of my patience for painting constructing and painting plastic model kits as a boy, below are recent attempt's.

Above is my HMS Hood. HMS Hood was a British Battlecruiser, the finest the World has seen, a Household Name, Pride of the British Navy and envy of many other's for more information I recommend reading

Flagship Hood by Ted Briggs and Alan Coles.
Hood & Bismarck by David Mearns and Rob White
The Battlecruiser Hood, An Illustrated Biography (1916-1941) by Bruce Taylor

There are fine examples of excellent Hood models in the Hood Model Gallery click on Hood Today at www.hmshood.com

Above is my Fairey Swordfish Biplane.
The Fairey Swordfish was the British Navy's primary Aircraft Carrier bourne Anti-Ship/Anti-Submarine Strike Aircraft.
It was nicknamed the Stringbag by it's 3 man crew because like a stringbag it was used to carry many item's.
